Tubi parental controls: set the rating limit and confirm it took effect

Set Tubi parental controls, allow for the update delay, and check signed-out access.

Tubi provides parental-control settings tied to the account. Set them before using the service on a shared device, then verify the result rather than assuming it changed immediately.

Recommended setup

  1. On the website: Sign in, open your account menu, choose Account Settings, and find Parental Controls. Select the appropriate rating level, confirm the password, and save.
  2. On a television app: Open the left navigation, go to Settings, and choose Parental Controls. Select the level and complete password confirmation.
  3. Check that the update arrived. Tubi says changes can take up to 24 hours. Signing out, fully exiting the app, reopening it, and signing back in may help refresh the setting. 1

Good to know

The account password is involved in changing the restriction. An adult who controls that password should not treat this as an irreversible content lock. 1

A successful account setting also does not answer what happens outside that account. Include signing out, other accounts, and other devices in your safety check. Do not claim those routes are protected unless your own test establishes it.

For a child, use the most appropriate available rating choice rather than assuming every title below a broad rating is suitable. For your own boundary, decide whether a rating limit is specific enough or whether you need to avoid the service altogether.

Check your setup

Confirm the saved setting, reopen the app, and inspect a harmless title above the limit. Test what can be accessed after signing out, without seeking explicit material. Repeat on the television, not just the website.

Until the setting is visibly working on the intended device, keep viewing supervised or pause access. Do not mark the setup complete based only on a confirmation screen.
